Most EAPs offer 3-8 free confidential counseling sessions, substance abuse assessment, treatment referral, and crisis intervention.

Confidentiality

Your employer is not notified. EAP cannot share information without your consent except for imminent danger. Does not appear in personnel file.

Why use it

Free, confidential, immediate access to professional assessment. Using EAP proactively demonstrates responsibility.

Limitations

Short-term only (3-8 sessions). Provides assessment and referral, not ongoing treatment.
