Medicare Part A covers inpatient treatment. Part B covers outpatient and MAT. Part D covers addiction medications.

Part A

Inpatient at hospitals and certified facilities. Includes detox and residential. Standard deductibles apply. 190 lifetime day limit at psychiatric facilities.

Part B

Outpatient therapy, psychiatric evaluations, medication management, PHP, and IOP. Medicare typically pays 80% after deductible.

Part D

Prescription addiction medications including naltrexone and buprenorphine. Methadone for OUD now under Part B.
