Fentanyl is the leading cause of death for Americans ages 18-45. Whether or not you use drugs, understanding fentanyl could save someone's life.

Where fentanyl is found

Counterfeit prescription pills (Xanax, Percocet, Adderall). Heroin supply. Cocaine supply. Methamphetamine supply. MDMA/molly. Any pill not from a pharmacy may contain fentanyl.

How to protect people you love

Talk to teens and young adults about counterfeit pills. Never take pills from non-pharmacy sources. Carry naloxone (Narcan). Have fentanyl test strips available. Never use alone.

If someone overdoses

Call 911. Give Narcan if available. Begin rescue breathing. Stay until help arrives. Good Samaritan laws protect you from prosecution in most states.
