Clinical questions

What evidence-based therapies do you use? What is your staff-to-patient ratio? Are your clinicians licensed? Do you offer MAT? How do you handle co-occurring mental health conditions? What is your approach to relapse during treatment?

Practical questions

Does my insurance cover this program? What will my out-of-pocket cost be? What is the average length of stay? What does a typical daily schedule look like? What is your policy on phone/internet use? Can family visit?

Outcome questions

What is your treatment completion rate? Do you track post-treatment outcomes? What aftercare planning do you provide? Do you have alumni support programs?

Red flags

Programs that guarantee recovery. Facilities that push unnecessary services to increase billing. Programs without licensed clinical staff. Facilities that refuse to discuss outcomes. Programs that oppose MAT for ideological reasons.
