What to bring to rehab: A complete packing list

Clothing

Comfortable casual clothes for 5-7 days (laundry available). Closed-toe shoes for activities. Workout clothes. Pajamas. Layers for varying temperatures. No clothing with drug or alcohol references.

Toiletries

Basic toiletries: shampoo, soap, deodorant, toothbrush. No products containing alcohol (mouthwash, certain hairsprays). No aerosol cans. Some facilities provide toiletries. Call ahead to ask.

Important items

Photo ID. Insurance card. List of current medications (in original bottles). Emergency contacts. Small amount of cash ($20-$50). Journal and pen. Books.

Leave at home

Weapons, drugs, alcohol (obviously). Valuables and expensive jewelry. Laptops (most programs restrict internet). Your own medications that are not in original bottles. Inappropriate clothing.
