Percocet contains oxycodone (an opioid) and acetaminophen. Oxycodone has a half-life of 3-5 hours, but detection depends on the test type and frequency of use.

Detection by test type

Urine: 2-4 days after last dose. Oxycodone is detectable on standard opioid panels and confirmed with specific oxycodone testing. Blood: 12-24 hours. Saliva: 1-2 days. Hair: up to 90 days.

Chronic use extends detection

Regular Percocet use leads to accumulation. Daily users may test positive for 5-7 days after stopping. The acetaminophen component clears within hours but the oxycodone persists longer.

The bigger concern

If you are worried about how long Percocet stays in your system because you cannot stop taking it, that is the sign of dependence. Talk to your doctor about safe tapering or MAT options.
