What to expect at PHP: Partial hospitalization guide

PHP provides full-day treatment intensity while you return home each evening. It is more intensive than IOP but less restrictive than residential.

Schedule

5 days per week, 6-8 hours per day (typically 9am-3pm or 8am-4pm). Programming includes group therapy, individual therapy, psychiatric medication management, and nursing support.

Daily experience

Morning check-in and goal-setting. Group therapy sessions (3-4 daily). Individual therapy (2-3 times per week). Lunch. Afternoon groups or specialty programming. Discharge planning and check-out.

Who PHP is for

Stepping down from residential. Too severe for IOP but stable housing available. Needing close medication monitoring. Transitioning back to daily life with intensive support.
